Communicate Consistently and Regularly

Management must go out of their way to keep all employees informed of events as they occur.

With the ever-increasing complexity of business and the need to respond quickly to changing events, internal communications often suffer.  Whether done on purpose or by accident, information sharing is often limited to a select few people who “need to know.”  We seldom say, “The others don’t need to know,” but that is the impact of being selective.  The end result is that rumors and speculation quickly fill the halls.  Invariably, those rumors and speculation project a far worse situation than what has actually occurred.  Establishing formal, consistent, and regular bi-directional forums for sharing information is critical in preventing rumors from becoming “facts.”
