Starting with the end goal, look backward to determine what is needed by when.

At the end of the day or end of the week, it is common to ask, “Where did the time go?”  Interruptions are simply a way of life for most of us.  It is easy to put off activities with distant due dates, rationalizing that there will be plenty of time later to address the task.  In setting strategies, it is important to identify the necessary tasks and their required resources to plan to meet the desired outcome when envisioned.  Without this careful time-related planning, meeting the strategic goal as planned seldom occurs.
