Careful Problem Discovery is the most important aspect of Customer Discovery but ofthen overlooked.

Customer Discovery should be the first, and is the most critical, activity an entrepreneur can do as they start their journey.  It involves determining the proper product-market fit for their company.  It is based on obtaining external validation that the problem they are solving and their solution resonates with prospects.  However, before talking to prospects about the proposed solution, the problem must be thoroughly researched and understood without any thoughts or considerations about the solution.  This article lists sixteen areas that need to be considered and provides an example.
