Know When to Stop

Asking for the job at the appropriate time is OK, but asking too early or continually asking is not.

Asking for the job instead of waiting patiently for an offer is acceptable as long as the timing and the way you ask is carefully planned and executed.  Going through an interview process is always more stressful for the candidate than the company.  The candidate’s timing and urgency probably do not align with the company’s timing and urgency.  However, continually asking may result in a quick, knee-jerk negative response.  Maintaining control of the process is always in the candidate’s best interest.
