Sales opportunities need to take advantage of initial enthusiasm.
It is hard to rekindle a fire once it is out. The initial small fast-burning material that gets the larger fuel burning may have been all consumed in the initial flames. Once a small flame is ignited you must work hard and fast, against time, to keep the fire burning and expanding. After the flames of excitement diminish, a sales opportunity may linger in the ashes and be smothered. It can be very difficult to re-establish the flames and the heat energy that will continue to help it grow. Simply letting time pass with no continuous efforts taking place will let the embers get cold.
