Investors cannot continuously focus on each company; CEOs must update them regularly.
The CEO spends virtually all of their waking hours either working on company issues or thinking about them. Financial investors may be involved in ten or more companies and can only spend a few hours a week, and not every week, with the company. Keeping investors regularly informed of both good and bad events and the company’s overall progress is the responsibility of the CEO and critical in keeping investor confidence and support.
