Naming companies and their products and developing effective brands are activities every company must address.  These activities can be undertaken alone or with the help and guidance of hundreds of companies that specialize in this activity.  These activities can be simple or overwhelmingly complicated and costly.  It is easy to argue about their importance.  What cannot be questioned is the name or brand; it does not matter if the product or service does not meet its objectives of providing value to the customer.
