Outsourcing allows a company to focus on its core competencies while leveraging others.

The days of complete vertical integration have given way to companies that focus on their core competence and rely on others better equipped to provide the other necessary disciplines to serve customers.  Relying on others with specialized skills leverages those companies’ scale and expertise.  The David Allen quote: “You can do anything, but not everything,” clearly summarizes the need to embrace outsourcing by all companies, new or old, large or small.
