Focus on “how” and not “if” individuals will be held accountable.

Perhaps most of us are uncomfortable with being held accountable for results.  Whether those results are known to others or are internal, we tend to avoid being held accountable to expectations.  On the other hand, we expect others to be held accountable for their actions.  It is important to move past the argument of why we should not be held accountable and focus on what the criteria should be.  Essentially, move past the IF and focus on the HOW.
