Ballpark answers can lead to strikeouts.

The near-instant access to information on the internet has made many of us impatient, wanting “quick” answers.  Many of us extend the request for quick answers during interactions with colleagues and strangers.  Without details, our responses are often way off-base, leading to surprises and disappointment later.  The question initiator often forgets that they only provided a general request.  Explanations after the misunderstanding has occurred are often viewed as excuses.
