It is natural to focus on what we are saying instead of what is being heard.
It is natural for us to focus on what we want to say instead of what we want the other person to hear. Mistakenly, it is easy to assume that both things are the same but can be very different. We assign the label to this situation as a misunderstanding. Without awareness of the likelihood of this occurring, seemingly clear communications do not occur.
