It always seems to take longer to receive orders, especially if you are not focused.

Overestimating the speed and rate of the revenue ramp is a common, almost unavoidable trap that investors encounter regularly.  The problem is often deepened by focusing on filling the sales funnel with prospects instead of flushing it with customers.  The consequences of falling into this trap are often fatal.  Carefully forecasting by sales events, (not dollars) and then concentrating on each step necessary to close a customer can help avoid this situation.
